The shoe drive started in June and Wealthsmiths™ have embraced the call to do it for good. Sanlam staff have collected a total of 377 pairs of school shoes and R28 000 has been raised too in just two months, which equates to 254 pairs of shoes. Moreover, the Sanlam Sky team delivered 40 pairs of school shoes to Dukemini Primary School in KwaMashu in KwaZulu-Natal, the Sanlam Foundation delivered 100 pairs of school shoes to Ludwe Ngamalana Primary School in Khayelitsha in the Western Cape, and Alice Lane (Jhb) delivered 50 pairs of school shoes to Hitekani Primary School in Soweto as part of the Mandela Day in July.

At Sanlam, we believe that being a Wealthsmith™ isn’t just about doing the best you can for yourself; it also means caring about what is best for others. That’s why we encourage our staff to get involved in the communities around us.
As you may already know, as part of our centenary celebration Sanlam launched
Shop for Good to give the public the opportunity to provide learners with the supplies they need to make learning easier. Whether it’s R10 or R1 000, every contribution will be used to make a difference in Sanlam Blue Ladder schools.
Sanlam launched Shop for Good to give both our employees and clients an opportunity to help give schools the essentials they need for children to learn. Shop for Good lets you contribute towards school essentials by simply browsing through a catalogue of school supplies. When you shop for good from
our catalogue, you won’t be buying the actual items. The money you spend will be donated to the Sanlam Blue Ladder Schools Project and used to improve maths competency levels and nutrition, and upgrade key facilities where they’re needed most.
If we invest in their education today, imagine how much more every child in South Africa could achieve – for their future, for South Africa and for generations to come.
You can still shop for good and help us make a difference – visit the
Shop for Good website.
